A New Recruit Joins the Team
IPEX Consulting is delighted to announce that James Casareto has joined its growing team as a Principal Consultant. James is an experienced Project and Contract Manager, as well as Engineering Manager, for both Rolling stock and Depot Facilities. He has over 10 years’ experience in the rail industry, gained within the train operating company environment at Eurostar International Ltd.
James has recently led projects and continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and deliver higher quality of work for Eurostar within the Operational department based in France. As Operations Performance improvement manager, he worked on Crew size dimensioning as well as Timetable and fleet utilisation optimisation projects. In addition, he was also the project manager for the new Fleet and Crew planning software tool using Quintiq system.
During his time with Eurostar, James managed multiple strategic projects and contracts such as the maintenance and service contract for Technical Services and Spares Supply Agreement (TSSSA) between Eurostar and Siemens, concerning the Cl 374 e320 Velaro High Speed trains operated by Eurostar.
James also led Temple Mills Depot Infrastructure maintenance activities and optimised ‘in-house’ productivity and supplier dependencies, alongside overarching responsibility for the infrastructure maintenance planning to deliver unified and coordinated Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) and Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) principles. During this time, he also managed a significant Depot modification project.
Previously, James held the role of Engineering Manager for the Cl 373 (e300) refurbishment/Mid-life overhaul program. In this holistic role he coordinated all engineering activities, managed Safety and Train compliance approvals, organised and oversaw test and commission to enable final vehicle acceptance and commercial service release as planned, as well as supporting the business for all readiness activities.
Through continuous progression and taking on more strategic projects and management responsibilities, James always aimed to contribute to the successful growth of the business. Highly driven by challenges, both professionally and in his private life, this attitude enabled him to provide excellent engineering management, problem solving and risk management. James’ strengths include project / contract management, engineering management, problem solving, and leadership. Calm, self-controlled, and reliable, James is always keen to respond to requirements and technological initiatives with strategical and practical methods.
He has a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, enjoys mechanics and motorcycle racing, and speaks fluently both English and French.
