Chris is a Chartered Engineer, rolling stock specialist, and creative and strategic thinker with 28 years’ experience globally, particularly in Australia, the UK, and New Zealand. Chris’ passion for, and in-depth knowledge of the history of, the rail industry drives him to provide practical, pragmatic, thoughtful advice on a range of issues showcasing his understanding of the complexities of the railway, its systems, and the reasoning behind its practices. Chris specialises in rolling stock procurement, decarbonisation of the railway, technical writing of standards and reports, crafting clear, unambiguous, documents, strategic planning looking at the future direction of railway systems, and due diligence and advisory for investors in rolling stock.
Chris provides thought leadership in going beyond the boundaries of present practices and challenging current reasoning; understands complex requirements and develops functionality, procedures, and practices to provide solutions to those needs; while building effective working relationships between diverse stakeholders; leading, managing and developing teams across diverse backgrounds, cultures, and skills; and working within multi-disciplinary teams providing timely delivery of bids, reports, and industry outputs, both in proposals and project solutions. Chris brings a methodical approach to ensure timely, cohesive, comprehensive, validated, responses, investigating, analysing, and recommending appropriate outcomes, providing outputs in accurate written and verbal technical reports, with appropriate attention to detail and value adding conclusions.
Out of the office: Chris is a Trustee of the Festiniog Railway Heritage Group, while also enjoying volunteering on the Ffestiniog Railway, railway modelling, researching railway history, and walking his dog.
