Richard is an experienced rail practitioner across the technical, commercial and financial disciplines, having held key roles on high value, city-scaping projects in the domestic and international rail markets. Originally starting his career in the British Rail workshops, working on bogie manufacturing projects and setting up a bogie assembly line, he progressed through a variety of roles including project, maintenance, commercial, business and technical risk management within the financial sector – all with client-centric focus, exposure and delivering impactful outputs and results.

Richard brings a different perspective to the rail and rolling stock team, with his most recent roles held in the top 2 institutional banks in Australia where he provided technical, valuation and risk advice internally to the Banks on major structured asset finance and PPP rolling stock projects.

Richard is a Professional Engineer and Accredited Member of the ASA (formerly the American Society of Appraisers) and has completed numerous rolling stock valuations on local and internationally operating assets. His deep experience in a broad spectrum of disciplines enables him to provide expert advice on technical, commercial and financial aspects of rolling stock, rail and other asset types.

Out of the office: Richard is the Membership Officer for the ASA Australia Chapter and has also undertaken rail industry mentoring roles. Most mornings, Richard begins the day in his small garage gym set up – trying to keep fit and active! At weekends his time is sent with his growing family and when he gets the chance Richard listens to one of his favourite bands from his ever-increasing vinyl collection.
