Umar is an experienced project manager and chartered engineer with over 13 years’ experience in the rail industry, starting in a maintenance and overhaul environment for a rolling stock manufacturer, then consultancy work for new build rolling stock. He has a track record in problem solving and delivering customer satisfaction.
His specialisms include: determining project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, performance standards while completing technical studies and preparing cost estimates, requirements management to deliver contractual compliance for new build, heavy overhaul and modification programme management, maintaining schedules by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, managing risk, and resolving problems.
Out of office: Umar loves DIY challenges, motorcycling, photography, fitness and is a martial arts instructor at his local dojo.
