Bicycle storage for high speed operations

The UK DfT wanted to explore options for bicycle storage on high speed trains and required a technical advisor to opine on the options from a technical and legal perspective. DfT, through Steer, retained IPEX to carry out a technical assessment of the options presented. IPEX reviewed the storage design against relevant rolling stock standards and provided an assessment of the design in a concise report. IPEX was able to outline the reasons why the design could be found non-compliant and how it could be improved. This work helped the DfT to understand what is possible in this space and to continue their study.
